Safety on Campus

Going to college and living away from home is a huge milestone in a person’s life.  While this is a very exciting and liberating time, there will also be many new challenges to prepare for, both inside and outside of the classroom.

Most parents (especially of female college students) worry about their children entering into an unfamiliar environment alone, and filled with new people.

Crime is on the increase all across the U.S., and college campuses are far from immune to crime.  In fact, RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) has recently stated that college aged women are at the highest risk for being sexually assaulted.  College campuses are unique environments that very often create a false sense of community and security.
